Glassfiber&Fiberglass
An artificial inorganic fiber. Using natural ores such as quartz sand, limestone, self-marble, kaolin, pyropyrol, etc., with other chemical raw materials such as soda, stretch acid (can also be used to contain alkali, stretch natural ore instead), melt into glass, in the molten state by external force pulling, blowing or cast into very fine fiber materials. According to its composition and properties, it can be divided into alkali free glass fiber (including non-stretched glass fiber), medium alkali glass fiber, high alkali glass fiber and special glass fiber; According to its form, it can be divided into continuous glass fiber, fixed length glass fiber and glass wool; According to the production method, it is basically divided into two categories: one is to make the molten glass directly into fiber, the other is to make the molten glass into ball, rod or material block, and then use it as raw material, remelting into fiber with a variety of heating methods. The basic properties of glass fiber are: non-combustible, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, small moisture absorption, small elongation, high tensile strength, good chemical stability, good electrical insulation and insulation performance, poor flexibility and folding resistance. Because of the different glass composition, one aspect of the performance can be more prominent. It can be made into various forms of products, such as yarn, wool yarn, cloth, belt, round simple cloth, thin felt, felt, plate, tube shell and so on. It can be used as electrical insulation material, filter material, heat insulation, sound absorption, shock absorption material, anti-corrosion, moisture-proof material, etc. And use it as a reinforcing material, with a variety of organic or inorganic materials made of composite materials, such as glass fiber reinforced thermoset plastic (FRP), glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic and reinforced rubber products, glass fiber reinforced inorganic cementing materials products such as reinforced gypsum and cement, etc.; Also can use the method of organic coating treatment to improve its flexibility, making a variety of soft products such as packaging cloth, window screen, curtain, wall cloth, tent cover cloth, building film materials and special protective equipment. These products are widely used in industry, agriculture, construction and civil. And because it has some excellent properties that other materials do not have, it has become an indispensable material in the military industry.
Continuous glass fiber
A large class of fiberglass forms. Refers to the molten high temperature viscous glass liquid from the turbulent hole outflow, is pulled into infinite length of glass fiber by external force. Continuous glass fiber has thickness, its use is different. Generally, the diameter of 3-9 m fiber woven into a variety of textile products, such as cloth, belt, casing, etc., because often through textile processing, so also called textile glass fiber; Fibers with a diameter of 10-24 m were used to make stiffening materials such as no-twist roving, no-twist coarse gauze, short-cut raw silk, and short-cut raw silk felt. So it is also called enhanced glass fiber.
Staple glass fiber
A large class of fiberglass forms. It is a glass fiber of limited length, also called long cotton. There are many production methods, such as blowing and rolling. The length of the fixed length fiber is not very uniform. It can be made into wool yarn and processed into fabric, can also be made into thin felt, or processed into products, used as waterproof material, filter material and insulation material.
E-CR glass fiber
It is a kind of glass fiber without B2, O3 and F2. Since 1970, due to increasing attention to environmental effects and in order to improve the chemical and mechanical properties of glass, many changes have been made to the composition of E glass: By reducing the content of B2 O3 and F2, TiO2, ZnO, SrO and Li2 O oxides were added and introduced, E-CR glass fiber, unlined glass fiber, unlined glass fiber and Advantex glass fiber appeared. This type of fiber has good electrical insulation and chemical stability, while improving the mechanical properties of the fiber, making it more environmentally friendly.
M glass fiber
Also known as high modulus glass fiber, referred to as high modulus glass fiber. The elastic modulus and tensile strength of the reinforced plastics made with it are more than 30% higher than those made with alkali-free fibers and 5%-30% higher. Most of this kind of glass components are added to the magnesium aluminum silicon system glass, some oxides such as BeO, ZrO2, TiO2, rare earth oxides and other components to improve the elastic modulus and physical and chemical properties. Higher melting temperature and crystallization upper limit temperature than alkal-free and medium-alkali glass, crystallization speed is faster, so the fiber forming temperature is higher. It is mainly used for glass fiber reinforced plastic products with high elastic modulus and national defense science.
